As a Deaf leader, my commitment is to ensure that Deaf persons are recognized as equal citizens with full linguistic, educational, and human rights. Pakistan Association of the Deaf (PAD) works in alignment with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) and the Sindh Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2018, both of which guarantee the right to education, accessibility, and participation in society, including through sign language.
I am honored to be the first Deaf representative from Pakistan to the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) and to represent Pakistan within the global Deaf Muslim community. These roles strengthen my advocacy for Deaf-led development and inclusive policymaking.
Education in Pakistan Sign Language (PSL) remains our core priority, as Deaf persons are among the most educationally marginalized groups. PAD has developed more than 25 sign language–based books for daily life and learning and is finalizing a PSL-based Early Childhood Education curriculum.
To translate this vision into practice, I founded the Centre of Excellence for the Deaf (CED) to provide quality, inclusive, and Deaf-friendly education.
Our mission is to build an educated, empowered, and self-reliant Deaf community, in line with Sindh law and international human rights standards.
Here are the donors and well wishers who support us for the growth, development and success of the organization.
